In this paper you can find the information about the new generation of optical access networks. These networks are known as Hybrid Passive Optical Network (PON). These networks, which support the next generation of Ethernet/IP based communication, can provide access to more subscribers at higher speeds and over longer fiber lengths. Here are described the basic aspects and simulation model.
