Original Abstract

The presented paper focuses on the fuzzy analysis of the ultimate limit state of a steel-concrete member under compression. Analysis of the load-carrying capacity was performed using the geometrical non-linear solution. The cubic strength and elastic coefficient, which were expected to significantly influence the load-carrying capacity and for which only little information from experimental research is available, were fuzzified. The secant modulus of elasticity of concrete was considered in compliance with EUROCODE 2 with fuzzified input variables. The performed fuzzy study illustrates an alternate approach to the analysis of reliability, which enables us to take into account and quantify the influence of epistemic uncertainty of input factors on the output of the computational model.
