Original Abstract

To incorporate uncertainties in input variables into the analyses of pavement structures the special numerical simulation techniques are used. To show possibilities of such methods the reliability analysis of deflections of the real concrete pavement is performed. The computational model of pavement behavior is based on nonlinear Finite Element Method. Four concrete slabs, all other layers and longitudinal and transverse joints are modeled as 3D space. Joints, contact of slabs in joints, contact of concrete slab and subsequent layer, and loading from temperature changes are modeled in detail. Layer thicknesses, mechanical properties of layer material, characteristics of joints, and temperature on both surfaces of concrete slab are supposed to be random variables. The modern simulation technique Updated Latin Hypercube Sampling with 20 simulations is used. The results of statistical and sensitivity analysis of deflections in totally 53 points of slab surface are discussed.
