Original Abstract

Finding of new approaches to increase sensor sensitivity with dimensions decreasing at the same time, together with low-cost ability in manufacturing are current challenges with solution in advanced nanotechnologies utilization. Large scale of nanoparticles can be used for detection of important molecules including quantum dots, magnetic beads, carbon nanotubes or metal nanostructures such as nanorods, nanowires and nanotubes formed on various solid supports (electrodes). These nanostructures are particularly convenient for bio/chemosensing purposes because the sensors show significantly higher sensitivity due to increasing of active sensing surface and in addition often modified/functionalized for desired purpose.
