Original Abstract

Following experimantal work was already presented during poster session at Chemrawn conference in Malaysia (October 2-6 2011). Attention has turned to the potential exploitation of oxygenic, photo-autotrophic microorganisms (algae) for the production of higher-generation biofuels. In order to measure algae elemental composition several detection techniques can be applied. We present a fast accurate technique, Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) that can be applied online, in-situ even connected to biogenerators for measurements of algae nutrition status.
