Original Abstract

Creep of concrete is a phenomenon that greatly influences the deflections of reinforced concrete elements, and in this sense it must be considered when the serviceability limit state is assessed. EN 1992-1-1 introduces a single effective elastic modulus for concrete, but it also allows to use more accurate models, if available. The paper will shortly introduce a model and computer program developed by authors, which is based on the time discretization method and material nonlinearity approach. This method allows simulations structure including the entire history of the building and loading. The results of the model are compared with results obtained using simplified procedures according to EN 1992-1-1.
