Original Abstract

The basic goal of education lies in developing the ability to apply gained knowledge and skills in practice. Today, at the time of intense development of science and technology and of steady growth of ICT under conditions of global market, practical application becomes a particularly topical issue. In May 2011, there was a primary quantitative research conducted among students of bachelor study programme at FBM. The aim was to identify flaws in current job engineering education, specifically concerning education through the means of the TPV2000 information product in laboratories. A number of representatives of partner companies were interviewed regarding demands placed on graduates. Data extracted from both of the studies served as grounds for subsequent analysis of knowledge supply and demand in the production process planning field. The present study introduces the outcomes of the research. The authors of the article are aware of the flaws in the existing education regarding its practical application. The article proposes new aspects of education which will increase the future managers' knowledge, its complexity and the possibilities for further practical application in the field of operational production planning. The article presents a complex case study to help systematize job engineering knowledge and integrate it into other economic disciplines.
