Original Abstract

We present a method of improvement of RFID receivers to overcome issues with self-jamming, which in conjunction with receiver limited dynamic range degrades the sensitivity. The proposed architecture utilizes a carrier cancellation system and a preamplifier. Sensitivity of -84 dBm was achieved for error-free data detection in the received tag signal. Sensitivity of -100 dBm was achieved when using this architecture for tag signal detection from the frequency spectrum in an RFID tag performance measurement instrument.
