Original Abstract

The paper compares operational parameters of a modular high-temperature device where working gas is heated by intensively blasted electric arc. Experiments were carried out with argon of flow rates in the range between 11 g/s and 22 g/s and arc currents in the range between approximately 50 A and 290 A. Conclusions are important both from operational and designers' viewpoint.
