Original Abstract

This paper offers a proposal and a solut ion of an equipment for measuring of solar radiat ion intensity. It lists reasons why to measure intensity, contains fundamentals of photovoltaics, deals with how elect ric energy is obtained from a solar radiat ion and how the intensity of solar radiat ion affects the power output of photovoltaic devices. The project also deals with prime facts about 4 to 20 mA current loop and serial RS232 communicat ion. Proposed design is based on usage of the pyranometer CMP 21, a PIC microcontroller and a current loop to create a device which gathers data and t ransfers them to a PC for further processing. System for measuring intensity of solar radiation consists of pyranometer, t ransmitter loop ad PC software for analysis of measured data. There is a new measuring system that is possible to analysis intensity of solar radiat ion data. Informat ion of intensity is collected over t ime. This fact can by used for analysis dependence of the intensity solar radiat ion on the efficiency of solar cells.
