Original Abstract

The target of this research is to prepare the recommendations for the calculation of anchorage lengths of FRP bars that are based on the present European Code method. The real bond stress capacity of a nonmetallic bar was tested on specimens during experiments. From these it was possible to specify the maximal bond stress with concrete. Numerical modeling of these experiments was carried out, including the study of the influence of concrete cover (covercrete) on bond stress. A comparison of development lengths according to different valid codes (ACI, JSCE and CNR) was carried out too, which serves as an example for the design of FRP construction today.
