Original Abstract

The registration of retinal images is required to facilitate the study of the optic nerve head and the retina. The method proposed is based on mutual information as the similarity measure between shots from Canon Fundus Camera and images taken by Heidelberg retina tomograph. It seems wise to register these two types of images, because shots taken by camera are of quite poor quality but a greater angle of view, so it gives overall view of retina and tomography pictures gives greater resolution in the portion of optic nerve head.
