Original Abstract

The paper presents an experimental RFID front end prototype. Direct I/Q conversion between baseband and RF signals in the UHF band ensures high linearity and low noise of the system. Proposed modular design is very flexible and allows easy replacement of any block, as well as direct access to all required low-level signals. Basic implementation of communication with EPC Gen2 RFID tags using the Query command only is briefly discussed in the final part, together with basic measurements of the system.
