Original Abstract

A lot of groups are still interested in producing surfaces composed by nanoparticles for electrochemical sensors application. This nanoparticles increase the detection area and as consequence better sensitivity is obtained. The using of ordered nanostructures opens new opportunities in electrochemical sensors technology like smaller parameters, higher sensitivity and lower prices. Here it is described a technique to produce gold sensors elements with comb like microstructures and nanomachining surface. The nanoparticle surface is obtained by using of template base method. In our case, a hexagonally ordered porous alumina is used like mask for deposition nickel nanowires or nanotubes. The template of alumina is prepared by anodization process under specific conditions. Preparation of perfectly ordered structures depends on homogeneity of material, deposition technique and anodization conditions like temperature, voltage and type of acid. Two-step anodization process is used for fabricating ordered porous structures. This method uses self-ordered abilities of alumina during anodization process. In the first step, pores on the top of layer start to grow randomly but on bottom side of pores, they begin to be hexagonally ordered. After dissolving of first anodized layer, ordered pits are created like print of previous pores on aluminium layer. The second step continues with anodization process already on preprinted aluminum layer and pores start to grow ordered. Finally structure is regular ordered and all pores have same geometrical parameters. Next operation consists of filling the pores with metal by electro deposition method, in order to fabricated nanowires or nanotubes. Thin film gold electrodes with porous alumina template are applied like base for deposited nanoparticles. The fabrication of nanomachining surface depends on various parameters like temperature of solution, pH or current density. Last operation is dissolving the alumina template. As a result we obtained metal nanoparicles on comb electrodes which are object of additional research.
