Original Abstract

This paper discusses the possibilities of moving object detection in video sequences with statical background. For the purpose of detection, the Gaussian mixture algorithm has been modified. The essence of this computer vision method consists in the background image modelling and with subsequent detection of such pixels that are varying compared with the created model. The algorithm has been implemented in Java programing language to test its capability of real time detection using common web cameras.
