Original Abstract

In building industry, non-destructive methods are used predominantly for testing of concrete, rarely for testing of other building materials. The paper deals with measuring results owing to utility of selected non-destructive methods of testing interlocking paving blocks (rebound ultrasonic pulse method - Schmidt impact hammers, types N and L) and blended cements (ultrasonic pulse method) for strength. Tried testing methods, procedures of results evaluation as well as calibration relations for detection of material strength from parameter of non-destructive testing are presented. Calibration relations show very tight correlation between non-destructive testing parameter and the relevant strength. Real utility of non-destructive methods for strength testing of paving blocks and blended cements is proved.
