Original Abstract

Stirling engines are complex thermo-mechanical systems. Computational modeling of their thermodynamic cycles is significantly more difficult than in internal combustion engines, the reason being, among others, that individual thermodynamic processes take place simultaneously. Traditional computational models are based on ideal theoretical cycles which are only modified in various ways. For this reason, there are serious discrepancies when such computational models are applied, which can be up to 20%. The objective of our team of researchers is to create a virtual Stirling engine prototype in the form of an advanced and complex computational model which would assist in solving the issues of dynamics and fluid dynamics with significantly higher accuracy.
