Original Abstract

A system for safe overtaking vehicles is based on the mutual exchange of important information, such as speed, mutual distance, GPS coordinates and vehicle dimensions (width and length). The system should indicate to the driver, using a traffic light symbol, whether he can or cannot overtake a vehicle. The article aims to analyze how the different parts of the system work and communicate with the Intelligent Transportation Systems. It further explores the format of the data frame communication.
