Original Abstract

Structures from high grade steel and concrete are more frequently used in the field of design of modern engineering structures. The ultimate limit state of steel-concrete columns comprising steel profiles encased with high strength concrete in compression is analyzed. The paper is focused on fuzzy analysis of load-carrying capacity of steel-concrete building members. Stresses in the concrete and steel sections are determined according to the principles of elasticity. General extended principle, which takes into account the epistemic uncertainty of input parameters, was utilized for the analysis.
