Original Abstract

One of the factors determining the quality of steel-fibre concrete is the correct content of steel-fibres and the homogeneity of their distribution. During our work on a project the target of which was the development of new non-destructive methods for the determination of homogeneity of steel-fibre concrete and of the percentage of steel-fibres, we solved the problem of creating calibration samples where an ideal homogeneity of steel-fibre distribution would be guaranteed. This factor would be easily controlled, either during the manufacture of specimens or after their finishing. The problem was solved by making specimens where concrete mixture was substituted by semi-transparent composite of glass cullet and epoxy resin.

Keywords

Non-destructive testing, steel-fibre concrete structures, calibration samples.
