Original Abstract

Filtered MultiTone Modulation (FMT) is an alternative type of MultiCarrier Modulation (MCM) to the currently used Discrete MultiTone (DMT) and Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) techniques. In the paper an equalization principle suitable for Half-overlap subchannel Filtered MultiTone modulation is described. Half-overlap subchannel FMT is a variant of FMT modulation. Compared to common non-overlapped FMT modulation the subchannel width is double and the carriers cannot be too closely shaped. That enables using a smaller polyphase filter order and thus obtaining a smaller delay.
