Original Abstract

The paper deals with the principle of measuring luminous intensity curves of luminaires, using digital cameras equipped with advanced optical sensors - raster-based CCD or CMOS chips sensitive to the luminance of the scanned image. The measuring of the reflection of the light emitted from the defined surface of the lamp has been used. Using the exact characteristics of physical parameters, like a diffuse surface, lens etc., we are able to re-calculate the curve of the measured light intensity. The paper describes the principle of the development of mathematical tools, where the information on the position of the camera and also the location of the measured lights has been included. The measuring of luminous intensity curves by digital photography significantly accelerates the measurement cycle, since the entire measuring of the intensity of all the curves takes just a few seconds.
