Original Abstract

This paper deals with MR image de-noising by using the wavelet analysis focusing on the wavelet thresholding techniques and the threshold estimation. Hard, soft, semi-soft and non-negative garrote thresholding techniques are described and applied to test images with two different threshold estimators; one uses the universal threshold and the second is derived from the Bayesian risk minimization. The results are compared according to three parameters: SNR, intensity contrast and intensity gradient.

Czech abstract

Tento článek se zabývá potlačením šumu v obrazech MRI pomocí waveletové analýzy se zaměřením na techniky prahování waveletových koeficientů a určení prahů. Jsou zde popsány techniky tvrdého, měkkého, polo-měkkého prahování a prahování nezápornou garotou, které byly aplikovány na testovací MR obrazy za použití dvou rozdílných technik určení prahu; první používá univerzální práh a druhá je odvozena od tvz. Bazesian risk minimazation. Výsledky jsou porovnány pomocí tří objektivních parametrů: SNR, kontrastu intensity a gradientu intensity.
