Original Abstract

The paper describes a method for computation of sensitivities of voltage and current distributed on multiconductor transmission lines (MTL). The technique is based on a generalized PI-network lumped-parameter model of the MTL while its solution is formulated via the state-variable method. The required t-domain solution is obtained by using the numerical inversion of Laplace transforms (NILT) procedure. The method enables to determine sensitivities with respect to both lumped parameters of the external network elements and distributed parameters of the MTL itself. The error analysis is performed while utilizing a simple system with known analytical solution.
