Original Abstract

The reconstruction of building objects must usually include the complete restoration of their outer insulation layers. Their functionality is conditioned by their ability to resist both thermal and moisture loads from external environment. The visible green coating of algae is the consequence of the high level of surface moisture in the facade plasters. The paper demonstrates that the population of algae (under standard Czech climatic conditions) is conditioned by the heat radiation, active in the infra-red wavelength range 0.75 - 100 micrometers. The simulation of these processes applies the mathematical model based on the non-stationary equations of heat and moisture transfer, allowing phase changes, with the incorporated influence of capillary water conduction.
