Original Abstract

This paper focuses to deal with the design of an mixed signal ASIC single chip measurement system for (i) embedded digital sensing of TFT biosensors and (ii) system programming (hardware & software). This ASIC monolithic measurement system is embedded on thick film amperometric sensors. The sensor applies fused alumina substrate processed by thick film technology. The ASIC prototype prepared in CMOS 0.7 µm technol-ogy contains mixed signal analog measurement block and programmable digital calibration EPROM memory located on one chip. The digital part of the chip of the smart sensor contains 48 OTP (One Time Programma-ble) cells that are supposed to store calibration data for the precious measurement. The programmer is based on the ATMEL microcontroller. The full system is con-trolled by developed PC software. PC and programmer communicate with the biosensor with embedded ASIC chip via a USB interface.
