Original Abstract

This article is focused on diagnostic of extinguishing processes in quenching chambers of low-voltage circuit breakers. The flow of plasma and hot air in the chamber is studied with the help of pressure measurement. The pressure is measured in various positions with three sets of pressure sensors that are able to work in dynamic mode. The pressure curves along with curves of arc voltage and current are recorded with the high-speed acquisition system based on PXI. The movement of arc into the chamber and its backward flow can be easily identified from these charts.
