Original Abstract

A bolometer is a sensitive thermal detector of electromagnetic radiation, largely used at submilimetric and far infrared wavelengths, also called terahertz (THz) spectral region. THz detection involves high sensitivity bolometric devices, based in our case i) on high Tc superconducting hot electron bolometers patterned on ultra thin (10 to 50 nm thickness) YBa2Cu3O7-x films, designed for high sensitivity applications (e.g. radioastronomy), and ii) on semiconducting room temperature microbolometric pixels arrays designed for THz imaging.
