Original Abstract

The paper focuses on various questions of assembling a low-cost and efficient cluster and its subsequent incorporation into the infrastructure of Czech national grid project METACentrum. The article describes the possibilities offered by ANSYS, Workbench and CFX for the distributed environment of parallel computing. The provided information should help administrators in configuring the administrated systems. Common users may find useful the described experience with user environment, services and overview of problems in high performance computing. At the end of the paper, the question of programming on libraries MPI/PVM together with a brief overview of Open Source applications for numerical simulations is mentioned.
