Original Abstract

An extensive research is being currently conducted on fire safety of engineering structures. Widely used approach for the design and assessment of concrete and reinforced concrete structures subjected to high temperatures is a numerical modelling using finite element method. The main restriction for efficient numerical modelling of high temoperature loaded structures is a lack of input parameters, mainly their temperature history dependence. Even though the most observed material parameter is compressive strength, the effect of the complex temperature history on this parameter is not know so far. This work presents some pilot studies on the effect of the exposure time after heating on compressive strengths of concretes with various water-cement ratios.
