Original Abstract

The proposed paper deals with decreasing errors and computational cost of analysis of switched (continuous-time) systems using general-purpose simulators. Traditional algorithms for the time-domain analysis implemented in Spice-class simulators are based on the assumption of smoothness and continuity. Abrupt changes of system parameters or even discontinuity during switching cause numerical errors. The paper describes a methodology for modeling switched-mode power supplies using new features of the latest version of the PSpice simulator. New functions for behavioral modeling allow explicit signaling of DAE system changes.
