Original Abstract

An analytical model for corrosion induced cracking in reinforced concrete structures has been derived based on the concepts of fracture mechanics and smeared cracks. As no sufficient experiment for this phenomenon is available to verify that analytical model at the moment, the idea of verification based on virtual non-linear fracture mechanics (NLFM) modelling arised. The aim of the work was to develop NLFM computational model for the corrosion induced cracking and compare the results witch the one obtained from analytical model.
