Original Abstract

The concept of an "effective" water-cement ratio (or k-value concept) for concretes with supplementary cementing materials (SCM) is reviewed. An analytical model for the carbonation process in concretes with SCM considering the random properties of involved variables has been studied; the reliability of RC concrete structures made with SCM is dealt with in the context of durability.
