Original Abstract

The contribution deals with the study of thermal conditions of environment on working places in hot workshops, where workers are stressed with radiation heat. To protect the workers local air supply to the workplace is used. The local air supply through an air shower was located either above the workplace or close to its floor. The study is based on operational measurements of thermal conditions of environment at the workplace. The analysis of environment thermal state was carried out by using the WBGT-index and operative temperature. The measured WBGT-index dependences on the airflow velocity specified the courses of airflow velocities along the workplace height needed to obtain homogenous environment with the optimum or acceptable value of the WBGT-index. The defined courses of velocities allow designing the optimum local air supply to hot workshops.
