Original Abstract

This contribution presents results obtained during the kinetic study of DC flowing afterglow created in pure nitrogen with addition of oxygen up to 0.5 % at gas pressure of 1 kPa and discharge current of 160 mA. The results show that the populations at studied levels don't change a lot in the early afterglow up to about 8 ms. At later decay times, the populations significantly increase especially at oxygen concentrations under 300 ppm. This population increase reaches up one order at the highest oxygen concentration at the latest decay time. The vibrational distribution profile of N2 (B 3 Pi_g, v = 2 - 12) doesn't significantly change due to the oxygen addition.
