Original Abstract

The paper focuses on different modifications of time-frequency or time-quefrency representations, i.e. spectrograms and cepstrograms and on nonlinear perceptual warping of the frequency axis, the mel transformation. The modifications of spectrograms and cepstrograms are based on different nonlinear warping of the magnitude spectrum. The mel transformation is realized by all-pass frequency transformation. The aim of the experiments is to increase the effectiveness of speech enhancement algorithms primary constructed for the classical time-frequency domain.
