Original Abstract

The side channel attack is a new possibility of the attack on the cryptographic module. The side channel attack is led against a fault in the cryptographic algorithm implementation. The operations, which take place inside the cryptographic module, can be referred to in short as the activity of the cryptographic module. During this activity the cryptographic module produces heat and other emissions, takes power from the source, etc. Sensitive information is carried outside of cryptographic module in this way. The power side channel (current and voltage) are one of possible side channels. The simple power side channel attack is a more serious case of power side channel attack. This article focuses on the simple power side channel description and on the practical presentation of simple power side channel attack.
