Original Abstract

In this paper, we present the design and modelling procedures of UWB turbo codes and UWB SCCCs, along with their performance analysis in comparison to the recommended FEC method with the help of computer based simulations. We consider both the direct spread and OFDM versions of UWB in the presence of AWGN as well as IEEE 802.15.3a channel models.

Keywords

Wireless personal area networks (WPAN), Ultra wideband communications (UWB), Forward error correction coding (FEC), Turbo codes, Serially concatenated convolutional codes (SCCC).
