Original Abstract

This paper describes the possibility of use of industrial waste materials as fillers into polymeric repair materials for reinforced concrete structures. The best combinations of polymeric resins with industrial waste materials are looked for, in order, for the final new materials, to meet the requirements of present building industry. These new repair materials should protect reinforced concrete structures against corrosive environment and also extend their durability. Not only the ecological effect, but also the economical effect should be the main motivation for waste materials producers, because the price of waste fillers is in comparison with natural resources, such as silica sand, expressively lower. For that reason, the possibility of utilization of industrial waste materials as fillers into polymeric repair materials seems to be an interesting alternative for waste processing.
