Original Abstract

Building waste features mineral nature nevertheless, it contains also various metals and organic compounds e.g. wood, plastics, asphalts, and so on. Utilization of building waste in new building materials shall respect common qualitative requirements relating to construction products covering hygienics and health/environment protection. In this context, construction products containing building waste are under evaluation. Assessment of health hazard and environmental impact comprises of tests as follows: Chemical analysis of leach, Ecotoxicity tests, Measurement of material specific activity, namely 226Ra
