Original Abstract

The paper is based on results of the research resolved within the bounds of the GAČR project (Grant Agency of the Czech Republic) Internationalization of Small and Middle-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in CR under the number GA 402/02/0106. The paper describes briefly the internationalization process of SMEs in CR and demonstrates application of marketing activities in involvement of these enterprises in the international business. As an introduction the paper is briefly concerned with development of the foreign trade of CR and with the growing importance of small and middle-sized enterprises (SMEs) contributing to successful development in the field of involvement into foreign transactions. Importance of SMEs and marketing approach for their involvement into international transactions is stressed from this point of view; at the same time certain critical points connected with application of marketing activities in their internationalization process are revealed.
