Original Abstract

This work compares several approaches in the field of high-voltage layered-spinel and Li-rich cathode materials which could be used in HEVs, PHEVs, and EVs due to their promising electrochemical properties. The commercially used batteries are not satisfying in terms of increasing demand for higher capacities, higher voltage, and eco-friendly materials. The materials discussed in this paper could be an excellent alternate to them as they do not contain cobalt, has good and stable capacity, and are cheaper. There are identified their superior properties throughout the article and at the end is the summary of their representative electrochemical characteristics.
