Smart sensor for mechanical vibration sensing and powerfull signal processing is a compact unit containing two ultra-low noise sensing MEMS elements with different parameters for mechanical movements measurement, analog chain for signals processing, single core microcontroller based on ARM architecture, communication interface RS485 and power supply circuits. Processor ensures reading the data through a digital bus from the 3D low-frequency element, AD conversion of a signal from 1D high-frequency element, data processing and conversion of the data for the vibrations time waveform record reconstruction. Sensor continuously calculates in real time ISO vibration severity in all four channels, i.e. perform the integration, band pass filtering and RMS value calculation. This value is periodically transferred through RS485 bus to the supervised system, which can store the data for future trending and decide whether the incoming values exceeded the permissible value. Supervised system can ask the sensor for the raw data buffer (in any axis) or FFT analysis result, which is calculated and sent through the bus by the sensor on demand.
