Original Abstract
The chapter deals with the concept of a single-wire transmission line. The line consists of a metallic ground plane, three-dimensional knitted layer and free space. The structure is shown to increase efficiency of energy transfer, and moreover, allows the integrating of fundamental high-frequency components (waveguides, filters, antennas) into the textile substrate.
