Original Abstract

Currently, issues concerning industrial waste utilization in building material production gain ground. One of these spheres is also use of fluid ashes for concrete manufacturing. Fluid ashes are by-products of latter coal combustion technology nevertheless; their application to building material production did not come to extent comparable to classic coal combustion fly ashes. One of reason for this fact is poor information on characteristics of composites made of them. This paper presents findings concerning testing of concrete with partial cement replacement by lignite fluid combustion ashes as to resistance against aggressive media. Cement has been partially replaced by fluid ash in quantities amounting to 10 to 50 percentage of concrete weight. Concrete samples have been exposed to liquid sulphate/acid aggressive media for a period of 18 months. Test results shows that 15 % to 25 % fluid ash addition enhances concrete resistance against sulphate and acid aggressive medium.
