Original Abstract

The aim of this paper is to set up a hierarchical industrial communication model via the Common Industrial Protocol for the purposes of practical laboratory instruction. The designed solution is applied to the distillation process. After introducing batch control (ISA-88) and the ISA-95 standard, the authors describe the communication model and relevant development systems. The validation and verification of the proposed and implemented distillation column model is demonstrated by using a sample experiment.
