Original Abstract

The increasing importance of chemical admixtures for the concrete production and their wide assortment on the market is not accompanied by the respective amount of information. The high-performance concrete tailored according to the demand of the project in question is often composed of different mineral and chemical admixtures, the quality of which must be tested as well as the properties of the fresh and hardened composite. Recently, the long-term durability of concrete structures is demanded, in agreement with the trend to enhance the productivity of material. The most important chemical admixtures are superplasticizers of different chemical compositions available in wide assortment. Their reactivity with the mineral additives in concrete is poorly studied thus far and needs further research.
