Original Abstract

This thesis deals with gasification of biodegradable wastes. As fuel into the gasifier reactor, which was Biofluid 2, were used alternative biomass wastes here, namely digestate and sewage sludge. Furthemore, rough fuels analysis were made for both fuels with determination of their energy properties. Samples of generated gas and tar were taken during the gasification proces. The effect of the gasification medium (steam, air) was investigated on the composition and the calorific value of the generated gas. Another observed factor was the composition and amount of emerging tar. It is very important to optimize the gasification proces with the aim to generate gas with the highest calorific value while minimizing the amount of tar, as the tar is the main obstacle to the gasification applicability. Among the main parametres influencing the gasification proces belong the gasification temperature, the quantity and type of the gasification medium and last but not least the properties of the used fuel, in particular its moisture content.
