Original Abstract

Biosurfactants are amphiphilic molecules that have both hydrophilic and hydrophobic moieties and which are excreted by microorganisms. They exhibit surface activity and have the ability to reduce interphase and surface tension by accumulation at the interfaces such as liquid/liquid, gas/liquid or solid/liquid interfaces. Over their chemical counterparts have biosurfactants a lot of advantages such as biodegradability, low toxicity, ecological acceptability and effectiveness at extreme temperature and pH. In addition, biosurfactants can be obtained using agroindustrial waste as a substrate which helping to reduce total production costs.
