Univerzalita vzdělání absolventů zvyšuje jejich úspěšnou uplatnitelnost v praxi. Požadavky na absolventy společně s nároky na flexibilitu ukazují, že pouze odbornost nestačí. U absolventů technického studia je třeba více rozvíjet soft skills a dbát na osvojení klíčových kompetencí, aby byl absolvent v praxi odborně zdatný a všestranně úspěšný. K tomu napomáhá zařazení společenskovědních předmětů do kurikula technické univerzity. Příspěvek teoreticky zdůvodňuje nutnost všeobecného vzdělání u techniků. V průzkumné části příspěvek analyzuje přínos vybraných společenskovědních předmětů Etika v podnikání, Prezentační dovednosti a Sociologie na technické univerzitě, jak ho vidí sami studenti. Rozebírá faktory, které přínos ovlivňují, např. potřebnost pro budoucí práci, modernost výuky, intelektuální stimulace aj. Ukazuje se, že studenti oceňují, když výuka společenskovědních předmětů studenty rozvíjí a má těsnější propojení se studovaným oborem a praxí. Transdisciplinarita charakterizuje vzdělávání napomáhající úspěšnému začlenění absolventů do praxe.

Universality of education of graduates increases their successful inclusion into praxis. Requirements for graduates together with demands for flexibility show that only expertise is not enough. For graduates of technical university, it is necessary to develop softs skills and to ensure mastery of key competences in order that graduates should be competent and broadly successful in praxis. The implementation of social science subjects into the curriculum helps to achieve this goal. The paper theoretically justifies the need of general education of technicians. The exploratory part of the paper analyses the contribution of selected social science subjects “Ethics in Business”, “Presentation Skills” and “Sociology” at the University of Technology, as they are viewed by the students themselves. It analyses the factors that affect the contribution, e.g. the need for the future work, modernity of teaching, intellectual stimulation etc. It is revealed that the students appreciate when teaching of social science subjects improves students’ development and has a closer connection to the branch of studies and praxis. Transdisciplinarity characterises the education assisting the successful integration of graduates into praxis.
